Becci Brewster's presentation covers a very general "Medicare 101". It includes general info about how Medicare works, who gets it, what it covers, what it doesn't, what is costs, and why. After laying the groundwork, she will explain the 2 basic options for most beneficiaries: 1. Traditional Medicare through the Federal government, paired with a purchased Supplement Plan (from a private insurance company) and a drug plan (also through a private company because Medicare does not offer them) to cover what Medicare doesn't. 2. Medicare Advantage Plan (through a Private Insurance company like BCBS, Priority Health, Aetna, etc) which combines the coverage of original Medicare with drug coverage, dental, vision, hearing and other benefits.
